2020

It’s that time of year when Facebook, and IG is about to get maximum levels of toxic about hating the body you are born in. So let me get ahead of it all and put this out there.

There is no “new you”. The you you’re in now is perfect. Try something else this year. Write down goals that choose to celebrate the person that you already are. To better it, to see it with your eyes, to grow with it with your heart, instead of trying to become “new”. Change because you love yourself, not because you want to run away from it. Acknowledge the you — Flaws and all. Folds and all. ♥️

Training is a celebration of what your body can do, an experience of discovery. Not a punishment because you ate too much over the holiday. Fill your movement with greater purpose than just to lose weight. Move because it feels good. Move because your body allows you to. Move because the decade is new, and the limits are a blur. 🤸🏽‍♀️✨💪🏽

So what if you gained a few extra. Look at all the memories you’ve made, along with all the good things you allowed yourself to indulge in. You never know, at the end of 2020 you might be looking back realizing, that it was the last of something good, something real, or something alive. What a waste it would be to have lived that final moment worrying about your weight.

So, LIVE.

Love every single moment of being alive. Don’t wait ‘til you’re the right size, because there is no such thing.
Enjoy this life season without guilt. Because, you deserve it, no strings attached.

If you’re still here reading this, know that I see you. These words are for you. Save it for when you need a weapon. Your existence needs no validation from anyone. Not a gym, not a coach, not ANYONE. Do what you want, because YOU want it. Not because some capitalist called you fat. What they wont tell you, is that you are worth more than a number on the scale. There are greater pursuits in life than becoming skinny.

So now GO.

Face the New Year with a proud ownership of the body you live in now. The only body you will ever have. The body that deserves to be the highlight of your year, not a target to destroy. See how much might you will gain when you embrace who you are, and every colorful thing that comes with it. See how much more you can do when you don’t wait ‘til you look a certain way.

You and your body are a team. This year is both YOURS ♥️♥️♥️ Here’s to loving ourselves a little louder, a little bolder. Hold that head high, my love. Your power is just about to go through the roof. I am excited for you.

Happy New Year!

X

Love,
Kayleen

Reflections On The New Season And The #MightyFit Community

But the best part about this new teaching schedule, is that I get to start Mondays looking back at the week that was. As an aerial and fitness teacher, I always feel like there’s always so much to be done. So many lesson plans stuffed in my head, especially that I now have pole, hoop, and silk on my plate every week. I sometimes feel that I am left with so little time, and sometimes even the  muscle strength to finish.

Answering The Question : How Do I Train After Being On Break For So Long?

I never have a big comeback story. It’s because I never really have been in a situation where I had to leave training. You can say that in many ways, it is the one thing I am afraid of. So to approach the question of: “How do I get back to training?” let’s talk about FEAR. What if I come back without a deadlift? What if I can’t do a hundred circus climbs anymore? What if I’m scared of high silks drops again? It makes me think, why am I so scared of it? After much thought, and in an effort to find an answer, I realise 2 things:
