One more post before we hit the stage tomorrow. I've been thinking about what I'd share since this hashtag came up.
What is #MyStellarStory? I have many. From the unbelieveable things I thought I couldn’t do, but do anyway. To forming friendships that last beyond the lights, beyond the stage. To being teacher to strong women and men who fly with their own stories to tell. There are a collection of experiences from the past 8 years it gets so hard to choose one.
But each year always has it's own character. This year, the story I’d like to share about my Stellar experience is the one that doesn’t hit the stage. The extra hours of practice. The tears you cry out of frustration. And the Polecats that hug you and remind you that you’re not a quitter. All of this make for one hell of an experience.
The reason we are all on stage is because of love. Simply put, we like each other a lot that we couldn’t possibly have this all to ourselves. We want everyone to find what we found. To know that the best friends you’ll ever have are the ones that will do 100 circus climbs with you even if they hate it. The ones that will run one more time because you’re both afraid to fail, and doing it together is comforting. The ones that will make you do it again, then hold your hand after. The ones that believe you can dance even before you admit that you can. Most importantly, in this same circle are the people who will make you feel that you belong here. That this is home, at times when you don’t even know how you fit in.
Polecats is a story of home, and Stellar never makes you forget that. 💛🖤
Catch us tomorrow at the Meralco Theater. Gates open at 7:00pm. Let's light the sky. :)
