A Date with Louis Phillip Kee

After a month of travelling around Europe, I finally got to catch a quick break. Jumping from city to city definitely did good for my soul, but not so much my hair. Considering all the weather changes it had to brave through. My hippie mane was in bad need of some lovin' by the time I landed back in Manila.

Good thing the wonderful people from Lifestyle Salon by LPK know exactly what to do. Treated by none other than Hong Kong's premier stylist, Louis Phillip Kee, I was definitely in for star quality treatment. Hits the spot just right.

I've had the same look for years. I like my long hair, and I've always had it that way. All of that changed in the span of 5 hours. I adore the patience of the entire team that worked on me. Every step was carefully carried out with professional grade skill and attention. It is no surprise that they have become a favorite of local celebrities and socialites.

Au naturel. 2 feet long. Last look before saying goodbye.

We started promptly at 10am. Knowing how much hair I had, it was necessary to set an early appointment. One of the resident stylists, Lyn, washed my mane with a mild shampoo and then Lea, the Creative Colorist proceeded to apply the base coat, just to lighten everything. Since I haven't had any treatment done on my hair, it took a bit longer than expected to set.

Drinks while you wait! Since the treatment takes a while. You can order food and drinks from the in house cafe, and also the nearby restaurants.

After the base, the highlights! LPK personally did my Ombre' Balayage treatment. Hair Balayage is a french technique, a soft color creation with natural-looking highlights.

Using Cynos Glamer Color and Cynos Colorplex Bond Fortifier Treatment, the team gave my long hair it's long awaited Ombre Balayage transformation. I absolutely love the results!

This look took 5 hours to make. Sending my love to everyone who worked on my hair. You make me so happy!

Since I spent the whole day at the salon. I picked up a few useful tips from the experts:

1. Long hair is nice, but bad for your scalp. The weight of your hair constantly pulls down on its roots, without you even noticing. This leads to hairfall and eventually overtime, your hair will start to thin. So to all the women who love to keep it long (myself included) get a new look every now and then. Give your scalp a break and get a haircut.

2. Curls bring out the highlights. I always have shoots, this provided to be very useful information. It alows your hair to catch light better, bringing out the full effect of the Ombre' Balayage treatment.

3. Get shampoo that is made especially for treated hair. You know how when you leave the salon your hair is always at its most beautiful? The secret is in the products. I got my Cynos stash and it's been keeping my hair looking the same since the day I stepped out of the salon.

In this stash, the Morocco Argan oil treatment is my absolute favorite! If you were to get just one product, get that one!

This was by far, one of my best salon experiences ever. Also, LPK is a really talented artist. He understands hair wonderfully well. My hair falls nicely even if it hasn't been styled, all thanks to the way he cut it. Goodbye bad hair days!
